L. Kenneth Crowe, L.C.S.W./Diplomate/J.D.
L. Kenneth Crowe is the Director of Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs.  Mr. Crowe has been employed with Alabama Psychiatric Services since 1979.  He received his Master’s Degree from the University of Alabama and his Jurisprudence Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law.   He is Board Certified by the National Association of Social Workers and the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work, and is licensed for Clinical Social Work, Social Casework, Community Organization, Research, and Administration.  He is also licensed for Private Independent Practice.  Mr. Crowe has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama and at the University of Alabama Birmingham.  He is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the American Group Psychotherapy Association.  He has previously served on the Advisory Board to the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program and the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners.  Mr. Crowe has also previously served at A.P.S. as a therapist for many years, working with both inpatients and outpatients. He has worked with Adults, Adolescents, and Children utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities.  Mr. Crowe has also previously served as the Supervisor of Therapists. 


Lane Gould-Hartline, P.M.H.C.N.S., B.C.
Lane Gould-Hartline, Director of the Eating Disorder Center of Alabama, is a Certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with extensive experience in the treatment of eating disorders. Her experience includes development and implementation of the Eating Disorder Center of Alabama, training and education of mental health professionals in the treatment of eating disorders, expert resource for the statewide practice of Alabama Psychiatric Services, P.C.  Lane maintains active membership in NEDA and ALNEDA.


Nancy McGreevy, P.M.H.C.N.S., B.C.,
Nancy McGreevy, APRN, BC became the Nursing Supervisor at Alabama Psychiatric Services on November 26, 2007.  She began her nursing career almost 37 years ago after graduating from the University of Vermont.  After graduation, she spent 10 years on active duty in the Army Nurse Corps and traveled all over the US and Europe. Ms. McGreevy taught Psychiatric-Mental Health at Columbus College in Columbus, Georgia for two years before moving to Birmingham to pursue her Masters in Psychiatric Nursing at UAB in 1981.
 
Upon graduation from UAB in 1982, Ms. McGreevy went to work at University Hospital and stayed until her retirement in July of 2007. Her work has always involved some aspect of psychiatric-mental health nursing, and in 1985 she received her national certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. Ms. McGreevy’s area of special interest is Death and Dying and Grief and Loss.
She remained in the Army Reserves for 12 years after getting off active duty and was activated for Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1991.

Suzette Smalley, LCSW., ACSW., ADC., PIP
Suzette Smalley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Certified Addictions Counselor, who has been with Alabama Psychiatric Services for 17 years. She received her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama in May of 1991.   During most of her tenure at APS, Ms. Smalley has worked as a therapist.  She is a generalist, who is qualified to work with all populations in the mental health system.   Ms. Smalley was promoted to the position of Supervisor of the Therapists in March of 2007.  She continues to hold this position where she provides ongoing supervision and training, and mentors the outpatient therapists statewide.
