Elise Beard, LPC Elise Beard is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who primarily works with children and adolescents at the Tuscaloosa Alabama Psychiatric Services clinic. She obtained her Master degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary as well as acquired her LPC in Mississippi after working as an outpatient therapist. After working as a clinician to help children and adolescents with learning disabilities, and acquiring her Alabama LPC, Elise joined Alabama Psychiatric Services, PC in 2009. She is certified to conduct PREPARE-ENRICH assessments, counsel and trained in play therapy. Areas of concentration include: family therapy, pre-marital and marital therapy, depression, anxiety disorders, behavior management, obsessive-compulsive disorder, self esteem, interpersonal relationships, and parenting skills. Treatment approaches include: play therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, psychodynamic, and behavior modification. Elise is a member of the Alabama Counselor Association. Donna Jones, LCSW Donna Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and has been in practice since 1978. She exclusively treats addiction, and has experience in the areas of trauma recovery, attachment, and anger and forgiveness. Donna was a part of the grass-roots board of concerned individuals and professionals who started child abuse prevention education in Shelby County Schools, and dedicated five years of service to writing the grant for this organization. Donna is currently active in her chosen twelve-step fellowship as well as the Recovery Ministries of the Alabama Diocese of the Episcopal Church. Donna has been employed with Alabama Psychiatric Services as a therapist for the Tuscaloosa Intensive Outpatient Program since January 2009. Janet W. Morrison, LCSW Janet W. Morrison is a Licensed Certified Social Worker with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master in Social Work. Post graduate training includes working with the dually diagnosed patient, survivors of suicide, bereavement, forensic social work, family education and individual/marriage/family counseling. Her career has involved many volunteer activities designed to educate the community and help reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.
Janet worked with leaders in the judicial and law enforcement professions to develop a program to assist with training of law enforcement officers on how to interact with persons with mental illness in the community. The program is currently being used to train new officers in Police Academies. Her service to the community in the mental health field earned her the 2004 RESPECT award from the Alabama Office of Consumer Relations. She joined Alabama Psychiatric Services Tuscaloosa staff in March of 2007 as a therapist providing individual, marriage and family counseling.
