APS is the primary provider group for Expanded Psychiatric Services (EPS), a product of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama (BCBSAL), as well as other BCBSAL products. These products help companies to budget a predictable expense for comprehensive psychiatric services through a pre-paid (capitated) method of payment. EPS products require no co-pay or deductible when employees and eligible dependents visit a network provider or use a network facility. For over two decades this product has had a proven track record for controlling costs with excellent patient satisfaction.

Physicians are on call 24 hours a day at each office location.

We continually evaluate the quality of services provided. Clinical services are monitored regularly to determine the effectiveness of treatment interventions and the patient’s response to care. Other quality indicators include patient satisfaction and access to care. Please visit the Quality Improvement section of this website for more information.

APS providers include professionals who are experienced in the treatment of most mental health conditions and substance abuse problems. Please click on the Services link for more information about our services. Our team of professionals includes:
  • Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists

Companies may refer employees who may be displaying problematic behaviors in the workplace such as temper outbursts, uncooperativeness with supervisors or co-workers, or who may be suspected of alcohol or drug abuse.

APS is ready to assist you in evaluating employees who may have had a positive drug screen. Our professional staff will assess the person and determine the best treatment approach and with the employee’s written consent, will share with you the recommendations for treatment. Our goal is to assist the employee in returning to work as a productive contributing member of your workforce.

APS is available to provide on-site seminars and brown-bag luncheons on a variety of topics for those companies that have the EPS benefit. Additionally, APS enjoys participating in your health and wellness programs as well as participating in your benefits fairs. At these events, we help to educate employees and dependents about their mental health benefits and provide educational materials on a number of mental health related topics.

Our affiliated organization, EAP Resources, LLC , specializes in the provision of employee assistance programs.
